The Washington Wizards are a professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C. They compete in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and play their home games at the Capital One Arena. The team was founded in 1961 as the Chicago Packers and has undergone several name changes, including the Chicago Zephyrs, Baltimore Bullets, Capital Bullets, and Washington Bullets, before finally settling on the Wizards in 1997. The team has had some notable players in its history, including Wes Unseld, Elvin Hayes, Gilbert Arenas, John Wall, and Bradley Beal. The Wizards have reached the NBA Finals once, in 1979, and have won four conference titles and seven division titles.
