The San Diego Clippers were a professional basketball team based in San Diego, California that played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1978 to 1984. The team was originally known as the Buffalo Braves before moving to San Diego in 1978. During their six seasons in San Diego, the Clippers struggled to find success on the court, making the playoffs only twice and failing to advance past the first round. In 1984, the team was sold and moved to Los Angeles, where they became the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite their lack of success in San Diego, the Clippers remain a part of the city's sports history and are remembered by many fans as a beloved but ultimately unsuccessful team.
