The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The team was founded in 1996, when the Cleveland Browns relocated to Baltimore and became the Ravens. Since their inception, the Ravens have been known for their strong defense, which has led them to two Super Bowl championships in 2000 and 2012. The team's colors are purple, black, and white, and their mascot is named Poe, after the famous Baltimore writer Edgar Allan Poe.
