The Delmarva Shorebirds are a minor league baseball team based in Salisbury, Maryland. They are members of the South Atlantic League and are affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles. The team was founded in 1996 and has won several division titles and a league championship in 1997. The name "Shorebirds" refers to the many species of birds that can be found along the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia, which is commonly known as the Delmarva Peninsula. The team plays their home games at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 5,200. The Delmarva Shorebirds are known for their fun and family-friendly atmosphere, as well as their commitment to promoting baseball in the local community.
