Collection: Capital City Bombers
The Capital City Bombers were a minor league baseball team that played in Columbia, South Carolina, from 1983 to 2004. The team was a Class A affiliate of several major league teams, including the New York Mets, the Boston Red Sox, and the Florida Marlins. The Bombers played their home games at Capital City Stadium, which was also home to the University of South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team. Despite their success on the field, including several division titles and league championships, the team struggled with attendance in their later years, ultimately leading to their relocation to Greenville, South Carolina, in 2005.
